NOMATIC EVERYDAY BACKPACK REVIEW (2021 review)

nomatic everyday backpack review

This durable, waterproof, fully featured 20L backpack from NOMATIC is one all commuters need to investigate further

If you’re a hard worker, or always on the move, needing to carry items with you, the Nomatic everyday backpack might be just what you need.

Laptops, documents, files, or just whatever, you’ll certainly need a good backpack. But not just any backpack – when you’re lugging around a bunch of items, not all backpacks are created equal. As a freelancer in journalism for many years, it was part of my job to move around a lot, mostly by train. I needed to take my laptop, portable camera, chargers, and some writing pads along. But then, I needed a backpack that was large and durable enough to contain all my work tools, but also portable enough to prevent discomfort.

Many years later and several backpacks after that, I have come to know many brands, and this post will talk about one product I find truly met most of my requirements, the Nomatic everyday backpack. Nomatic refers to this product as the most functional bag out there. How true that is will depend on what the bag can do and how well it meets the needs of users. So, if you’re looking to shop for a new backpack or you happen to have come across Nomatic, this review can help you make just the right choice.

The Nomatic Everyday Backpack is a truly rugged bag with multiple functions. Whether you’re running in and out of subways everyday to catch the train or you take a walk to your job, this bag can easily be carried on the back with convenient straps around your shoulders. You may also decide to turn this bag into a briefcase if it suits your situation. It is built to cater for everyday commuters, business executives, and just the happy-go-lucky folk in society.

Features

This product comes in black and has a very appealing outward appearance. But there are quite a number of other features that make this product worthy of attention.

  • Material: This bag is made of tarpaulin fabric, specifically the water-resistant Kodra 500D. The fabric is durable and long-lasting. As a water resistant fabric, you can rest assured that your valuables are safe, at least until you find shelter from the rain. This doesn’t mean you should go take a swim with this backpack.
  • Design: This Backpack is designed for dual purposes. It can be carried as a backpack with the straps properly fastened and as a briefcase. It has a main storage, as well as an RFID Safe storage for valuables like a laptop. But that is not all. Nomatic also comes with water bottle pockets that are magnetic and other hidden pockets for smaller valuables that require safekeeping. There is also a removable/interchangeable panel that gives you much freedom to use the bag just as you like it. As for the zippers, the YKK waterproof design is also great for keeping the interior dry.
  • Weight and Size: This backpack weighs 4 pounds with a package dimension of 20.7 x 12.8 x 7 inches. The materials ensure there’s not much extra weight apart from the items you’re carrying.
  • Room and Space: The expandable nature of this bag when loaded means you get to carry much more than you think. Although with an original interior space of 20 liters, this bag can expand to as much as 24 liters. This is great space to carry just as much as you need for that everyday task.

Functionality and Use

This Backpack is built to cater for your everyday needs. It can carry your laptop, its charger, some books and documents, two water bottles (whose pockets are magnetic and snap back into position when not in use), and so much more. What’s more? You can connect your phones and headphones to the built-in cords that run throughout your bag and connect to a portable charger or power bank. You can also take the bag on trips by simply mounting your backpack on your luggage using the roller bag sleeve.

Comfort

Comfort is non-negotiable when it comes to backpacks. From the versatile straps and roller bag sleeve for easy carry to having a removable hard shell to store your sunglasses, this backpack offers you lots of options. The straps are also properly padded and will rest gently on your shoulders without discomfort.

Durability

Nomatic Everyday Backpack does hold its own when it comes to durability. The fact that there is a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty against normal wear and tear should count for something. The materials, zippers and compartments are made with quality materials to give you sufficient value for your money.

What we loved about the Nomatic everyday backpack:

  • Different padded compartments for different items.
  • Lots of space to store your items.
  • Water resistant.
  • Sleek enough for multiple purposes.

Things to consider:

  • Quite pricey.
  • Its boxy shape might cause slight discomfort on the back of some users.
  • Available in just the one color presently

Conclusion

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

We love the Nomatic Everyday Backpack and it’s a design which certainly deserves to become mainstream. While on the pricier side, if the features and design align with your needs I think you’ll be very happy with this backpack.
